My Radio drama is based on the negative impact Social media has on young teenagers. My specific theme for my storyline is Cyberbullying where is portrays how teens get easily affected by online bullying and trolling. This can affect them in different ways but in my Radio Drama, the main character is affected by her body image and physical and mental health and ends up becoming Bulimic. My radio drama could be partnered up with companies that help teens overcome their body image issues.
I have been researching sites that help teenagers with eating disorders and have found one called SEED who are an eating disorder support group. For promoting them in my radio drama, they will be funding with us to help us gain more of a budget on equipment. In Dear Diary - my radio drama - my main character attends a support group that her Doctor mentions to receive help in her eating disorder and speak about it freely. Being sponsored my SEED will help thousands of teenagers around the world that are going through the same problem and will want to reach out and gain help from their services.
Another sponsor will be Facebook as the main character Siena will be messaging on Facebook and will be getting cyberbullied on their site. Facebook can help with our funding by promoting my Radio Drama with pop up ads and also maybe casting a livestream about my episode to help people experiencing Cyberbullying receive help. It allows a wide audience to understand and educate themselves that they are not alone in experiencing cyberbullying or that it does exist and what others can do to stop and prevent it.
